Recycling

In accordance with 2020 decennial census, Brecknock Township’s population now exceeds the minimum thresholds contained in the Municipal Waste Planning, Recycling and Waste Reduction Act (ACT 101) passed by the General Assembly in 1988, and is obligated by law to implement a recycling program for its citizens.
As a result, all trash haulers in Brecknock Township must collect recyclables and submit reports to the township on a regular basis that reports where they are disposing of the recyclables.
All persons within Brecknock Township shall deliver and dispose of Household Hazardous Waste materials to the Lancaster County Solid Waste Management Authority’s Household Hazardous Waste Facility. Contact the facility for current hours of operation at: (717) 397-9968.
